I hope to see the proposed option come to fruition. Te Aroha Mineral Spas are a huge draw card for the town. It brings customers from far and wide, who also spend money at local retailers and accommodation providers alike. To be able to continue offering this attraction to not only the district but the country, we require funding to upgrade the current at capacity facility. Help us help the district by enabling larger profit margins with an upgraded facility, which in turn will offset costs and losses for other council departments. It would be a real shame to see the only profitable facility be placed on the back-burner, considering the original $19million of funding was provided dedicated to a spa project, though since has been spread to other council departments. It wouldn’t make sense not to invest in the MPDC facility that has the opportunity to create the largest profit and provide wellness to all that visits.
