No matter what any economist may say the NZ population is hurting financially and nice to haves like a new spa is too much to expect when rate payers have to sacrifice household budgets to fund rates let alone fund a spa for foreign tourists or well-off New Zealanders to enjoy. Its too much to ask

Proposed option: Limit playground improvements to the planned new playgrounds for Te Aroha and Matamata?

As Morrinsville (complete) and Matamata (committed) have playgrounds then it is only fair as a District that Te Aroha shares in the love (no pun intended) and should have a new playground. BUT how does a playground cost $1.5m. Ridiculous
Roading

Walking and cycling improvements

Proposed option: Stop budgeting for new walking and cycling connections and safety improvements?

Like the Te Aroha Spa why is there a focus on cycling. How many of the districts actual residents do cycle-oath cycling. I dont know but would suspect rate payers are funding for a low percentage of the population again. Instead there should be an improved concentration on pedestriam safety - there are not enough pedestrian crossings, speed limits are too high in town, cyclists have no respect for pedestrians (riding on footpaths, ignoring crossings, rising too fast riding wrong side of road etc)

Funding should be reduced to maintenance only. Not even Pride of Place as rate payera cant afford the rates and these are nice-to-haves again. Peiple cant afford it
