Any other comments on Te Aroha Spa:
With no bidder for the original plan it was inevitable that the project would be halted. However if a bidder does come on the scene I think another look at the project would be great. We need people coming to Te Aroha and experiencing all that we have to offer.
Roading
Any other comments on roading renewals:
As best the council can do it is important to keep up the roading renewals. If the maintenance is not kept up to a certain level it will cost so much more in the long run to repair.
Walking and cycling improvements
Do you have any comments on this?
I think you need to keep up maintenance of the biking and walking tracks. We have a lot of visitors coming to Te Aroha to do just that.
Town Centre infrastructure
Do you have any comments on this?
Totally understand about further upgrades of towns. Just keep our towns looking fresh and tidy for the moment. It is up to the owners to brighten up their buildings. I have been to three Pride of Place meetings and to date have not seen anything come out of these meetings. Easy and cost affective ideas were suggested to bring people to our towns but no one, as far as I know seems to have picked up an idea and started the ball rolling to get thins started. We

Additional playgrounds
Do you have any comments on this?
Don’t agree with any of the suggestions. We our economy at the moment people will not be able to afford overseas trips so much and may choose to stay home. To bring people to our towns we need great playgrounds for families. The Morrinsville playground is great. I think an amazing playground should be in the Domain in Te Aroha. The Domain is a totally under used facility. The playground there is pathetic. With it being on a slope it could be innovative. I also ask why is Te Aroha always the last to have something done. We have lost the spa for the moment now it is time to spend it on a playground

Don’t agree with any of the suggestions. We our economy at the moment people will not be able to afford overseas trips so much and may choose to stay home. Proposed option: Investigate and deliver a suitable building to continue providing library services in Te Aroha?
Any other comments on Te Aroha Library:
Our libraries are absolutely essential in any town as they provide much more than just books. The question how much will the earth quake strengthening cost as opposed to a new building which could also provide a new Isite building plus a new improved library plus meeting rooms. Maybe the present building will have to be pulled down and a new fit for purpose building erected. This suggestion will not please everyone as it is a heritage building.

As rate payers if we want better facilities the we will have to pay for them and our rates will go up. Better facilities look after the many families to come. Don’t be afraid to spend on the important things like water etc that we need for our day to day living but also don’t be afraid to look at possibilities to enhance our lives. If more people come to our towns to either live or see they will spend money and then our rates will hopefully not go up too much for.
