While it would be a n ice to have if money was not a factor given the other things that need to be done and the proposed rates rise it is time to park this project.
Roading

Alternative option: Keep roading renewals at the current level?

The condition of our roads have deteriorated in the last year. Neither of the 2 options will restore the roads to an acceptable level. I would support an increase in the road budget. We need to at least maintain what we have and the amount proposed will not do that.

Keep the library open. The building has a lot of character and my preference is to keep it open. If the cost of strengthening is to high then an alternative to be found.

Much of the spending will be to bring the urban 3 waters infrastructure up to standard and most of the increase in borrowings will be used to fund this. The increase in debt servicing needs to be funded by a targeted rate for the urban areas that will benefit. As a rural person I have to supply my own water, storm water disposal and sewage system and should not be expected to pay for upgrades and maintenance to infrastructure that I have no use of.
