My preference is to continue to invest in walking and cycling infrastructure as planned in the previous LTP (and as a minimum). I note that there is not an option provided to continue as is.
Town Centre infrastructure

An updated and vibrant town centre that attracts people to visit and play is beneficial to all residents and attracts new business and enterprise. This intersects with the walking and cycling proposals - these visitors to the town centres are more likely to browse and purchase or rest at cafe style establishments.
Stage for the Matamata-Piako Civic and Memorial Centre
Do you have any comments on this?
Stick with the plan to investigate and seek community engagement and leadership for the development of this. Community facilities are core work for Councils and stakeholders. Engage regional capacity and capability builders such as Community Waikato, Creative Waikato and Sport Waikato to advise and engage communities about use and funds for community building assets.
Additional playgrounds

Playgrounds, shared greenspaces, vibrant urban centres, walking and cycling all intersect to support community health, wellness, active engagement and connection are supported by these community assets. As urban spaces in MPDC attract growing numbers of city commuters and new residents, playgrounds make it possible for families to envision living and growing here.

Do you have any comments on this?
For pets I would like to see a small community fund that helps with desexing of cats, and microchipping of both cats and dogs for people on low incomes and registered companion animals. I would support a dog registration amnesty in 2024/2025 year to encourage registrations.
