Keeping our towns functional + beautiful to support growth is important. We don't want our towns to look like they are underfunded and uncared for. Without investment into town CBDs, we won't create community vitality + prosperous business communities.
Stage for the Matamata-Piako Civic and Memorial Centre

Alternative option: Keep the project in the work programme, but defer it a few years?

A stage is an important part of running a venue. I think this should have been included a long time ago. Other thoughts - it is important (as the only modern venue in Matamata) that the venue's facilities work well; including heating, cooling, lighting, sound.
Te Aroha Spa

Any other comments on Te Aroha Spa:
It is very important to continue this project, and to find a business partner. This will help increase the tourism dollars spent in the district; and the benefits will be felt for years to come; if done right.

Proposed option: Limit playground improvements to the planned new playgrounds for Te Aroha and Matamata?

Playgrounds align strongly with community values. Keep funding them - I feel that replacements are part of normal capex, and shouldn't actually be a 'big drama' - they are part of normal business
